Looking to play competitive soccer? Well, we’re looking for players for our club.
Have a bit of skill and a good attitude? Then we would love to have you train with us to see if it’s a good fit.
Interested and know how to use email? Then contact the manager about training with us at email@example.com
Who we are
We are Stegman’s Old Boys FC. A collection of ageing greats, technically proficient schemers, strong cloggers and Ginola-esque dilettantes who train during the week, have matchday on Sunday and typically retire for drinks together after both. It’s surprisingly friendly and the feeling of team unity is strong.
We play year-round, but our primary season is spring and summer. We field two teams that compete in the Minnesota Recreational Soccer League (MRSL).
What we want
Quality players with good attitude. The current Old Boys have all played through high school and most have played beyond, so if you’re interested you will want to have done the same. Also, we don’t allow assholes so if you are one please look elsewhere. If you’re not and are interested in playing please contact the manager: firstname.lastname@example.org
We also want some silverware. Specifically, a division title and promotion, which would put us in the First Division. Promotion didn’t happen in the inaugural season, but a third place finish and League Cup birth is nothing to sniff at for a new team to the league. We also made our first cup final in the Minnesota Adult Soccer Fall 7v7 tournament.
What we offer
The chance to play competitive soccer with quality players and the chance to do it with a group of good guys who are there to play hard and, primarily, to have fun.
We also have a fantastically good time on matchday. With the cozy Arlington Park as our home field and a raucous home support, there is no better Sunday evening entertainment than an Old Boys match. Away games are fun too.
And to top it all off we’ve gone tongue-in-cheek over-the-top in embracing the ridiculousness of adult sports by getting corporate sponsors, creating a website, importing slick uniforms from England and otherwise enjoying ourselves to the fullest. And angering other teams to no end.
